Are we there yet?

Sorry that it's been a few days since I last posted. Things have been a bit busy around here. We met with the doctor this past Thursday, and he said that the baby has dropped. YAY! With the news that labor could be just over the horizon, Jason and I have been making a mad dash to get everything ready (or as much as we can)! Sophie isn't too thrilled with that, as it resulted in a shave (and a haircut... two bits!). She looks so silly without all her hair, but as she is a shedding machine, it had to go. :)

The nursery is completely finished. Finally. We had been nearly done for quite a while, but the finishing touches hadn't been completed. Jason got the closet door painted and we got the nightstand put together (THAT was an ordeal and a half as the piece was defective and required some creative thinking), and everything nice and organized for the little one's arrival. I have been washing all sorts of baby items, trying to get everything ready to go. Jason says, "It starts already!" as he found a stray tiny baby sock in the dryer. :) I will try to post some pictures soon of the nursery. :)

Pictures are up!

YAY! I got pictures of the two baby showers up on shutterfly.com. If you click on the link to the left, it should take you straight to our photo page, which will let you view and/or order any prints you want. I picked shutterfly.com beacuse you can order prints and have them sent to your house or you can pick them up at Target. There are also all kinds of cool photo gifts you can make on there, and you don't have to create an account to view the pictures. If you want, you can add your own photos or comment on the ones already there. We will be adding pictures of the baby to this site as we take them, so check it from time to time. I will try to mention here when I upload things. Enjoy!

Scary!

Happy belated Easter! We had a bit of a scare this morning. The baby was being awfully quiet last night, and then this morning I couldn't really feel him move at all. It scared the living daylights out of me! Dr. Antsey told us to go to the hospital for monitoring. Turns out that everything is just fine and that the baby was just really sleepy. Leave it to a worry-wart like me to freak out over nothing. At least now I know that he is doing okay in there. I think I gave Jason and my dad heart attacks, though. A little while after we left the hospital the baby started kicking like crazy. Little punk! :) I love him so much, even though he is a pain in the rear! I'm so relieved he is okay.

When the doctor told us to head to the hospital, I was very concerned that we were going to have a baby today. I haven't even finished packing the hospital bags! That is something I have to do ASAP!

I'm one step closer to getting the shower pictures up. Hopefully really soon!

Missouri Baptist Here We Come!

Well, we saw Dr. Anstey today and still no droppage. :( Baby Little is still aways away from coming into the world. We are hoping that he decides to get a move on soon. We are very anxious to meet the little one. :) Dr. A says that we'll be having a baby one way or another by tax day... They don't like to let women go too past thier due date anymore as the risk of complications increases drastically. Lets all keep our fingers crossed that it doesn't come to that.

We pre-registered at Missouri Baptist Hospital today, as that is where we will be laboring and delivering. (So, if you want to send flowers... :) Just kidding!) And we also made a trip to Columbia, MO so that Uncle Mike (who is a great dentist if you didn't know) could get my mouth baby-ready. :) I've had a crown that broke during one of our childbirth classes, and it has been making me crazy! Uncle Mike got that sharp point all polished down and my tongue is much happier. :) Thanks bunches to Uncle Mike and Aunt Darlene. :)

Baby stuff out the wazoo!

Well, after two baby showers and some very generous friends and family, baby Little's nursery is stocked and pretty much ready to go. He will soon be the cleanest and best-dressed baby around! I will be adding pictures from the showers as soon as I can. If you have any to add, please feel free to add them if you can. (I'm still very new to this whole "blog" business, and am not entirely sure what this site can do.) Thanks a lot to everyone for all of the nice gifts. We have been very busy trying to put everything away and get things ready for the baby's arrival. We got the stroller put together fairly easily and the car seats are installed in our vehicles ready to bring the "Little" one home. :)

The swing, however, was quite a bear and Jason spent a LONG time trying to figure out where all of the 800 pieces went. There was a lot of language unfit for baby ears coming from the living room while that was going on. :)

BEFORE

AFTER

Slowly but surely we are getting there. Soon we will start the big task of washing all of the relevant baby clothes in preparation for his arrival. Jason just about died when he saw how much Dreft costs. :) We are going to try the Target version in an attempt to pinch a few pennies.

We have a doctor's appointment tomorrow. We're seeing him weekly now. Hopefully he will have good news for us about the baby dropping in preparation for birth. (I just realized that is the second time I've used the phrase "in preparation" in this post. Odd.) I'm hoping things are moving along, but not too quickly. I don't want an overdue baby, but I don't want too early of a debut either. At the second shower, we did a "Baby Pool" where everyone guessed the baby's birth date, time, weight, and length. Some of the guesses were really funny. :) If I give birth on May 23 to a 12lb. 31" baby, not only will I die of shock, but someone better call the Guinness Book of World Records. :) We'll try to keep you posted!
